1. What is the idea/theme behind your tessellation?
Well for starters I really love anime and so when I did this tessellation in a wavy line I really liked it. All I kept seeing was an anime character with ponytails or there hairs is all swaying. Well I thought of that I really liked it so I went with it.
2. What polygon(s) did you start with and how did you alter it (what transformations did you use)?
I first started with a square then went from there. From there I cut a side of the square and made this wavy thing. Then I placed the piece of paper on the other side of the square. So I just taped the piece I had cut from the square and placed it on the other side.
4. In your opinion, are tessellations math or art? Justify your answer. (1-2 paragraphs)
In my opinion I think its both. Its art and math. In all honesty though I don’t think all artist focus on the math part. I believe that they just found a place and said “Hey look its math.” I dont think it works that way. To say its math to an artist. To say hey its math to an artist almost might be insulting to the artist. I only say that because number one they spent all this time on this painting or drawing. So i don't think that the artist are looking at the mathematics behind it.
